Habitat: Dry Hillsides from 7000 to 8000 feet in elevation.

Smell: Citrus Oregano

Edibility: Edible

Description:
A typical mint family member with square stems and purple flowers. It can be used to make teas, and also makes a great spice for meats and other foods. It has a smell very similar to oregano with a citrus flavor. A close relative Monarda Didyma that grows in eastern North America was used as a tea substitute during the Boston tea party.
