Russian Olive
Habitat: Near streams at lower elevations. Very common along the front range.

Edibility: Edible

Color: Silver-Green

Description:
This tree is an invasive species that has naturalised from Europe. It was brought to North America in the 1800s as an ornamental tree. The sale of this tree has been banned in Colorado.

Although this tree appears to have olives which the birds eat each year, it is actually not related to regular olives trees. Birds eat the olives and spread it around.
